The Story of Adam and… Kevin?

This is about the least biblical story you will see all year on the silver screen. Universal has signed Adam Sandler and King of Queens’ Kevin James  to star in an upcoming project called I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. The film is about two firefighters who pretend to be a married gay couple so they’ll be eligible for the domestic-partner benefits offered by their department.

The film, which is already being heralded by someone out there as “The Next best thing to Brokeback” and “Brokeback with a plot” is to be directed by David Dobkin, whose resume includes Wedding Crashers, one of the great success stories of last year. It is being written by James Taylor (not the singer) and Alexander Payne (Sideways and About Schmidt) So based on that, it should be a funny movie with enough quirkiness to go around. But I guess we shall see.
