post-therock.jpgWhy do we I ask? Well that’s because MTV Movies Blogs says that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is in talks to perform as either one in the upcoming superhero movie Shazam!. Hopefully it won’t be like the last reincarnation, Shazaam, which starred Shaquille O’ Neal.

According to MTV’s interview, The Rock is calling on his fans to help him decide which character he’s going to portray. This decision apparently comes after his recent visit to ComicCon, where The Rock realized that it should be up to the fans who are most passionate about it. Personal opinion, and the popular one so far is that he should take on the role of Black Adam. He just fits that role better, and his charisma will certainly help. Some of the Rock’s best work in the WWE was as a heel, and that should help him if he takes the Black Adam role. Has anyone else noticed that Dwayne Johnson is trying to get away from “The Rock” Moniker?

Shazam! is slated to hit theatres in 2009.
