peoplevgeorge01.jpgWere you one of those people who loved the original Star Wars films but absolutely despised the 3 prequels? Have you ever wanted to get George Lucas in a room alone so that you could beat some sense into him (and then touch him and never wash your hands again)? Well, besides being a little creepy, you are certainly one of many Star Wars maniacs out there. And now thanks to Writer/Director Alexandre O. Philippe and the folks at Exhibit A Pictures, your voice may be heard.

Philippe and crew are in the production on a one of a kind documentary titled The People vs. George Lucas. The project, which is slated for a 2009 release, will be a “feature-length documentary exploring the unique, ambivalent, and sometimes conflicted relationship that Star Wars fans, for the past thirty years, continue to enjoy with the Star Wars franchise and its creator, George Lucas.”

The film will include celebrity interviews, but will also include interviews by and of Star Wars fans from around the globe. These fans will be filming themselves and sending in the footage for possible inclusion in the film. It is truly a study of one of the most dedicated non-religious cult followings in the history of civilization.

Personally, I am excited to see what they come up with. If you’d like to get more information, check out PeoplevsGeorge.com.
