If we’re honest with ourselves, we realized that watching sexy, charismatic people shoot at each other and blow things up is fun. This is the crux of the action genre. It used to be that the badass guy would get some action to get the sexy girl. Now, the girl’s are the ones bringing the big guns and the guys are doing comedy relief. I can live with that. I can live with Zoe Saldana going from a rocket launcher to a very sexy, slow motion scene in her underwear. Call me a neanderthal.

Based on a Vertigo Comics property created by Andy Diggle (and illustrated by Jock) and directed by Stomp the Yard‘s Sylvain White, The Losers is about an elite team of CIA operatives — played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Columbus Short and Idris Elba — who are betrayed by a man named Max (Jason Patric) who now has them targeted for assassination. Using the assistance of a mysterious lady (Zoe Saldana), they work to root out those who have targeted them. It’s sort of like the A-Team, but sexier.

Warner Bros. will release The Losers on April 9, 2010. They’ve provided us with the trailer, which can be seen below. We also have the first promo image, which is taken from the coinciding comic image. Click either of those images to enlarge.
