I understand the terms of a contract need to be agreed on and everyone wants to get paid; however in our current economic climate I cannot support the idea of a strike. Businesses are going under every day and people are loosing their jobs left and right. I work in publishing and let me tell you it has not been a joyful holiday season around the offices. From my perspective it looks selfish to be crying for more money. Yes, we all want more money and in a flourishing economy I would probably feel different, but right now it only looks selfish.

If they do strike it won't last very long.
You'll see the Feds step in,,, the economy can't deal with a strike.

These SAG leaders should be considered financial terrorists under the Patriot Act and arrested.,,, (sure that's over the top, but hey so is the Patriot Act)

As someone who is knee deep in the business every day, I've been talking to a lot of regular crew guys (grips, electricians, caterers, assistants) and everyone is pretty mad - though most don't think the strike will happen. But then again, the main problem with a SAG strike is the vast majority of voters are not regular working actors, so to them if the benefits go up, they basically earn more for doing nothing and keep their regular jobs, regardless of the strike. So the benefit to them, as an individual, seems good. The detriment to the industry as a whole will be deadly.
