I love Slap Shot, I'm 23 and began watching the movie habitually when I was four years old. That being said, why the hell not remake it. It's not like any new movies are good. I can't stand when people cry "boo hoo they ruined a classic'. Don't like it? Don't fuckin' watch it! It's not like the original is erased. To make a story that could be way too long that would take me way to long to finish, over, all I can say is, the PERFECT Reggie Dunlop would be played by Denis Leary. Denis is already a big hockey guy and would be a perfect playing coach of the all-new Charlestown Chiefs. Let me know what you think nealsnikes@hotmail.com.

Blasphemy. This was the one film I was dreading they’d remake.
As far as the original Hansens, as much as I loved them in the original, just check out Slap Shot 2 and, yes, Slap Shot 3. To say they’re a pale imitation of their original characters is a colossal understatement.
If someone wants to remake a movie, fine. Remake it. But IMPROVE on it. Very few remakes I’ve seen improve on the original. And with Slap Shot, the original was perfect. How do you improve on that? You can’t. This will be horrid. Unfunny. Sad.
Enough of the remakes.

As long as the original Hanson’s show up at some point then I’d be happy, maybe for a re-make have a new generation of Hanson’s ready to play old-time hockey, and watch a little Speed Racer.
