The Guru Pitka is Stalking Me With a New Trailer
Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on May 5, 2008
Our friends at Paramount Pictures really want us to get on board with their upcoming film The Love Guru, which stars Mike Myers, Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake. They have been bombarding us with video clips, photos, posters and all sorts of media for the film, which hits theaters on June 20th — and as you may know, we have posted almost none of it here on FSR. The reason for that is because we are not all that excited about Mike Myers’ film — it looks really dumb.
But for some reason, despite the fact that every instinct I have tells me to stay away, I was oddly drawn to the most recent trailer, which we received this morning. I have no idea why it made me laugh or got me interested — it could be because I do, in fact, enjoy Mike Myers acting stupid and I like hockey — but it did. Therefore, I am going to force you to endure the trailer above and speak your opinions in the Sound Off section below.
So lets have it out — I think that The Love Guru has a chance at being funny. Dare to prove me wrong?

Alright, I am just kidding… This movie is going to absolutely suck. There is no way around it.

The new trailer still looks like crap. In fact, the second trailer is even worse than the first. You’d think the studio would release an improved trailer after the bad buzz from the first, but if the “funny” stuff in the two trailers is the creme de la creme of that movie, then I can’t imagine just how awful the movie would be.

Well, it seems only us Torontonians will enjoy the fact that our city and hockey team is the main setting for a major theatrical release… Either that or we’re totally going to be hated. lol

I saw the trailer for Guru before Iron Man yesterday. The audience groaned loudly at the
very first joke, and it went downhill from there. Plan 9 may finally get off the hook. This
could be the worst movie in the history of cinema.
