The Expendables: A Badass Promo Trailer
Movie News By Neil Miller on October 13, 2009 | (34) Comments
The internet is alive this evening with chatter of a promotional reel for Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming star-mongering actioner The Expendables. Since its inception, this project has been high of mind for geeks around the web, many of whom cannot wait to soil their seats on the day that Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren (among others) stand together on mission for blood. The trailer you’re seeing below, which comes courtesy of reader PatientZero, is the type of promo piece that films without distribution make to show to studios. It has enough to reveal the tone of the film, give insight to some of the story and show off some of the pretty action, but is not glossed up like a ‘for the masses’ promotional item. So it’s a bit dry in places, but it hits hard with some awesome action as well. Just know that there’s a lot left to be done — color correction, ADR sound polishing, etc.
The Expendables tells the story of a group of elite American soldiers who are hired for an incredibly dangerous mission, to uproot a nasty South American dictator. The film stars Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Eric Roberts, Dolph Lundgren, Charisma Carpenter, Giselle Itie, Brittany Murphy, David Zayas and Amin Joseph. The film opens on August 20, 2010.
Trailer has been removed at the request of Lionsgate.
