Confirmed: The Dark Knight to Play John Connor

Confirmation! The bell tolls the confirmation of what was until today a mere rumor, a dream of what could be accomplished within the new Terminator universe even with McG as director. The idea that John Connor could be played by an epic actor such as Christian Bale seemed to be far out of reach of the sadly sagging series, but no more do fans of the big metal German despair (though they’re still oh so sad that Arnie’s not coming back, it has to be said). For today, it has been confirmed by many sources, including Empire Online and Latino Review, that Christian Bale is indeed in final negotiations to play John Connor, the man to save the Earth from the evil Skynet monsters in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins! Bizarrely though, another rumor has reared its ugly head, raising the possibility that John Connor may not be the centre of the upcoming Terminator universe. Blasphemy, the crowd shouts, but according to empire, it’s entirely possible that he will not be the main character.
How odd. First a Terminator with no Cameron, then with no Arnie, and now without a Connor at the center of the tale, only a peripheral player? Why get someone who packs such a dramatic punch as Bale, and then push him into the sidelines?! Such a move would not sit well with hard core fans, but has anything about this upcoming rebirth sat well with them so far? Not to mention all the teenaged girls who will pretend to only go along to this movie to satisfy the male friends/boyfriends, but will really be there to sigh over the delectable Bat. Just please don’t use rubber nipples in any of his costumes.
