The Dark Knight: New Plot Synopsis Revealed

The folks at Warner Brothers are teasing us — they sent word yesterday that they had updated their Summer Preview press kit, causing every Tom, Dick and Harry with press credentials to scramble over to their site to see if there was anything new regarding The Dark Knight. Unfortunately for us, there was no new trailer waiting, nor were there any new pictures. Well, unless you count the two below, which have both been on the web for some time now.
There was, however, an updated plot synopsis. And it goes like this:
“The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan with star Christian Bale, who returns to continue Batman’s war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as the Joker (Heath Ledger), who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces the Dark Knight ever closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante.”
Oooh, spoilerific. Or not. Either way, this little tidbit continues to bring to light the story of the film and how all of these cool characters will fit into the big picture. At this point, just like with Iron Man, I am ready to have this film just come out already. Let’s have it, Mr. Nolan.
Sadly, we all have to wait until July 18th.
Take a look at the new(ish) photos below.
