The Dark Knight Flies Over Billion Dollar Mark
Box Office By Adam Sweeney on February 22, 2009 | (16) Comments
We all know bats are blind. The question is do they know the smell of cash? The Dark Knight does.
This weekend, The Dark Knight went over the billion dollar mark worldwide, having officially clawed in $1,001,082,160 to date. Do you think our friends at Warner Bros. are doing happy dances and smoking cigars made of thousand-dollar bills? Think that they are going to do everything in their power to ensure Christopher Nolan stays on with the franchise? We do too.
The number is relatively small compared to the all-time worldwide box-office leader, The Ship That Sank Bank Accounts … we mean Titanic. It pulled in $1,842,879,955. Pardon us as we slam our heads against a wall and continue making our Celine Dion voodoo doll.
Are you surprised The Dark Knight has done so well worldwide? Which celebrity would you make a voodoo doll of?
