"You can’t tell me that there were not any other deserving nominees other than Norbit and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End."

I think they only do three in this category. Much like visual effects.

"costume design on display here are second to none."

The costume design was second to Elizabeth.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly couldn't have been nominated for both Best Foreign and the major categories. Plus, the countries have to offer up official selections for nomination. The Academy doesn't choose them.

"I’m not sure why Johnny Greenwood wasn’t nominated for There Will Be Blood"

Because the score as deemed ineligible because too much wasn't original music written for the film.

Taxi to the Dark Side deserved to win. No End in Sight was a great movie, and can make you cry, but Taxi can make you rethink your entire country in the most visceral way.

Even if Blood didn't take the top honors, it still wins the fight in providing the best internet meme - everyone is talking about drinking my milkshake. And it makes me uncomfortable.

Bourne Ultimatum got too much. The Bourne films have locked in their praise. All 3 movies are basically the same story told over again.

I wanted 3:10 to Yuma for Best Score. Oh well, Westerns get no love. And Gone Baby Gone was shamefully unrewarded with even nominations.
