Terminator Salvation

Having just watched The Dark Knight last night, I am in the mood to talk about great practical effects, similar to those that McG has been promising to use in Terminator Salvation. And based on the explosive shenanigans found in the brand new trailer below, which was released on Apple last night, I’d say we’re in for a treat. Christian Bale looks dirty and angry as John Connor, a real man on a mission instead of the curiously wussified kid on The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and the film has a definite grit to it. As I’ve said before I’m still betting that sometime in late May ’09 we will be looking at McG and saying, “Hmm… I guess hes not actually that bad.”

The film follows the story of John Connor (Bale) and the war between humanity and the robot uprising. It will take us back to the dystopian, war torn world that James Cameron’s original films showed us oh so briefly. For fans of the Terminator franchise, this is the movie that they’ve wanted to see since Terminator 2 (we’ve all sort of forgotten about that third film). Check the trailer out for yourself below.

Terminator Salvation is in theaters on May 22nd, 2009.
