Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins with a Teaser

Christian Bale in Terminator Salvation

We had previously published the rumors that a teaser trailer for McG’s Terminator Salvation would be preceding The Dark Knight this weekend, and it appears that not only were we right, but the trailer has also been released online. The teaser, which can be seen below or in HD over on Yahoo! Movies, features our first look at Christian Bale as John Connor. As well, if you wait long enough, you will also get a look at one of Connor’s new foes.

I don’t know about you, but I get the feeling that this could turn out to be a pretty badass ride. We have talked ourselves in circles around McG’s directorial prowess (or lack thereof), but I get the feeling that he is more than capable of delivering a solid Terminator flick. This could be similar to Michael Bay taking on Transformers — he isn’t the most beloved or consistently successful director in the business, but he just might be the right guy for this particular film. Time will tell, but with a solid cast and some hinting at cool designs, McG seems to be on his way.

Terminator Salvation will hit theaters on May 22, 2009. For more, be sure to stay tuned to our Comic-Con Coverage, as we expect to see even more of this film when we are in San Diego.

What do you think of the first teaser for Terminator Salvation?

Christian Bale is a much better choice than the last two John Conners, finally a person who can do intense and not look stupid. Good trailer, peaked my interest in seeing more.
  • Pretty good teaser. It's got enough "mystery" and enough "cool shots" (like the terminator prototype at the end) to make one interest.

Looks really good, I'll look forward for more images =D
  • Christian Bale rules. He'll bring this franchise back just like Batman. He's ruthless and awesome.

This looks totally AWESOME & truly represents the proper concept of what a TEASER TRAILER is supposed to be as it's left me curious for more, (especially that end shot-WOW!), & seems to be telling people-this ain't your Daddy's Terminator but it'll be just as worthwhile seeing! Plus, I must say that Christian Bale has officially won me over after having doubts about the Batman series relaunch (after the last two garbage movies) with him as the lead and after prejudging him on American Psycho (which I hated) he's really come into his own and after B/B & 3:10 to Yuma I'm really on board w/CB's acting chops.
  • I want MORE!!! which means this teaser did its job. Can't wait

I concur with the others, trailer gives you just a taste. Wanting more. Bale has the pull right now to revive this concept. And this could make McG less of a joke.

Christian Bale is perfect for the role as john connor . I really hate people that say they will not go see Termanator Salvation just because Aronld Swazanager is'nt in it . I mean he was good in the first and second films and Ihave to say the third film was just gastly. I thought Nick stall (sin city) was not the best choice for John connor . But this won Look really good ....Well not as good as The Dark Knight was I saw it last night at 12:01 every one needs to see this film
