Terminator Salvation Footage Invokes Visions of Transformers
First Look By Neil Miller on December 4, 2008 | (26) Comments
Why is it that the Terminator Salvation footage that has leaked its way onto the internet this afternoon invokes visions of Michael Bay’s Transformers? Perhaps it is just my own mind playing cinematic association. Big robots with other big robots. Perhaps it is the desert set piece or the camera angles. Of course, it could be the fact that like Michael Bay and Transformers, I believe McG to be the right man for the job when it comes to bringing the Terminator franchise back to prominence. No matter what is going on in my mind, what really matters is what you are thinking after you watch the video below.
See what I mean? That last shot feels like Transformers, in a good way. Beyond that the movie is still looking pretty solid, possessing all of the grit that we hope for and all of the big visuals that we expect. The trailer mentioned in the ET promo above will be in theaters next week in front of The Day the Earth Stood Still and will premiere online sometime that following week.
What do you think of the small snippets of footage in the video above?
