Ten Seconds of Jonah Hex Footage is Better Late Than Never
Movie News By Neil Miller on April 26, 2010 | (5) Comments
A 10-second TV spot for Jonah Hex has appeared on SyFy this week, touting a release of the film’s first trailer later this week. According to the spot, the Hex trailer will debut on SyFy Thursday, just before it is set to hit theaters with A Nightmare on Elm Street this coming weekend.
A lot has been made of the slow marketing push for the Jimmy Hayward-directed comic adaptation. The film is set to release on June 18th, and here we sit with little over a month and a half remaining before the release, and we’re just now seeing the first 10-seconds of footage. There is usually at least a teaser trailer online 2-3 months in advance. The delays in marketing on Hex have called into question the studio’s confidence in the film, which stars Josh Brolin, Megan Fox and John Malkovich.
Set in the wild west, Jonah Hex is the story of a scarred bounty hunter with a few ties to the supernatural. In exchange for his freedom from the many bounties on his head, he must stop a terrorist who intends to unleash hellish fury upon the Earth. The mad man is played by Malkovich. With that in mind, I don’t see how this movie won’t at least be a little bit of fun.
