I am a from Nebraska, and a student in Hastings, and I think it is sad that people still have this kind of view towards Nebraska and surrounding states….sarcastic or not. That would be like me telling the author of this article (from Austion TX) that I assumed I was supposed to receive a complementary handgun with my purchase of liquor while in Texas. Pure ignorance. It was really cool that many people all over NE pitched in and helped a town of 24,000 beat down a town of 750,000.

I find your "comment policy" ironic considering the fact that you trash the town of Hastings, it's residents and the residents of Nebraska in general in your OP. Although you didn't use racist slurs or the three letter "f" word you made broad generalization of intelligence levels, access to technology and culturedness of a group of people simply based on their location. That is offensive hate speech and should be removed.
