SXSW Preview: ‘Second Skin’ Trailer
Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on February 5, 2008
It is time to get excited about the South by Southwest Film Festival that will take place in Austin, Texas from March 7-15. We will be there in full force, with multiple members of the FSR staff on hand to cover all the happenings. We expect it (our coverage, at least) to be even better than Sundance.
To start things off, we have a trailer for a little documentary about a very big geek pastime, the world of Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (or as they are affectionately known, MMORPGs). Not being a hardcore gamer myself, it is hard to see why I would be so excited about this film, but the trailer has me hooked. I know too many good friends who are into these types of games, mostly World of Warcraft, and I agree that it is about time these guys (and gals) get some time on the silver screen. Similar to the way Seth Gordon’s The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters gave us insight into the world of competitive gaming, Second Skin aims to show the world of the immensely popular MMOs through the eyes of those who are immersed in it. Take a look at the trailer below.
Second Skin is a Pure West Film. It was directed by Juan Carlos Pineiro. Find out more at the film’s official website: SecondSkinFilm.com

I think its about time the real world is given a look into the world of MMORPGs, I think as part of the online community, we all defiantly know at least 1 person who plays one or maybe someone who’s life has fallen apart because of one. For some, they cant really understand it, and how a video game can ruin a life, but after this flick I think they will better understand
