Earlier this week, we brought you word of some of the films that will be playing at the 2010 South by Southwest Film Festival here in Austin, TX in March. But as we learn this morning, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. It was announced today that Lionsgate will be bringing the red-hot release Kick-Ass back to central Texas (where it made a major splash at Butt-Numb-a-Thon in December) as the opening night film for this year’s fest.

As always, we at Film School Rejects will be your home for the best SXSW coverage from our talented local staff of writers. Here at Reject HQ, we’re quite excited about Kick-Ass, a movie that has burst into our purview with a rockin’ red band trailer featuring Chloe Moretz as the foul-mouthed, agile pre-pubescent crime fighter Hit Girl. If you haven’t watched it yet, I suggest you give it a chance. It will have you reserving those opening night tickets via the SXSW main site immediately.

Stay tuned, as we expect more announcements from SXSW in the coming weeks.
