stuff-apes

There was a time not too long ago when I was ranting and raving all over Twitter about an awesome Blu-ray collector’s set that had absolutely blown my mind. And today, of all days, that same Blu-ray set is now being sold at such an insanely low price that you would be a moron if you didn’t click over and buy it right now. Amazon is selling the Planet of the Apes 40th Anniversary Collection on Blu-ray for $57.95 today, down from its regular price of $129.99. That my friends, is a f–king steal.

The set includes all five films: Planet of the Apes, Beneath the Planet of the Apes, Escape from the Planet of the Apes, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes and Battle for the Planet of the Apes. All five films are transfered beautifully onto Blu-ray and look as wonderful as ever. Save for the recent releases of the old James Bond films, this is probably one of the most impressive classic film to Blu-ray transfers that we’ve seen. In addition, the set comes loaded with extras and a historical book called Planet of the Apes: 40-Year Evolution written by Lee Pfeiffer and Dave Worrall.

For more info, I would suggest checking out the full review over at Blu-ray.com or just take my word for it and head over to Amazon to pick it up. You will not regret it.
