Star Wars Blu-ray Details Aren’t Far, Far Away

Want to know all about the upcoming (and long over-due) release of the Star Wars saga on Blu-ray? Do you have a deep-seated need to know whether or not the original (untainted) trilogy will be included, and we don’t mean in 4×3? Are you ready to begin once again cursing the namesake of George Lucas for playing games with his beloved trilogy’s home video presence? If this is you, you may want to seek some help. I’m told support groups exist. You may also want to be at CES in Las Vegas on Thursday, where the official announcement from LucasFilm will be made at the Panasonic Booth.
We’re currently taking some guesses as to what will be included in the release — right now strong contenders are (a) no theatrical cuts of the original trilogy and (b) possibly a 3D release (similar to what Disney is doing this year with their back catalog). One thing we do know: it will include Jar-Jar Binks in glorious high definition. Think about that for a moment. Now you really need some help, don’t you? [Engadget via Cinematical]
