Star Trek: New Clip Introduces Us to The New Dr. McCoy
Movie News By Neil Miller on April 7, 2009 | (19) Comments
If you’ve been following along, you’ve probably read a half million stories about the fact that a whole bunch of Austinites — including yours truly — attended the surprise world premiere of J.J. Abrams’ new Star Trek movie. And you already know that it was awesome. So I say lets move on to showing you some actual footage from the film. And it seems perfectly fitting that Paramount decided to release the following clip today, as it is one of my personal favorite scenes in the film — the introduction of Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy, played by Karl Urban. Urban was one of the many casting question marks going into the film, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that he’s perfect — he delivers the neurotic and emotionally charged McCoy in a way that would likely gain the respect of the late DeForest Kelley. And while he isn’t exactly the same, he sure does nail the essence of this character, as you can see in the clip below, which comes courtesy of Yahoo Movies.
Star Trek hits theaters on May 8, 2009. For more, you can check out my review here and Cole ‘Trek virgin’ Abaius’ review here.
