I would have to take exception to the "everything JJ does is good" reference. Remember he has been part of a lot of the so/so movies and series that have been produced in the last 10 years.

If it's subtle humor it may not be bad or distracting. I'm a JJ fan, but I'm still a little skeptical on the new Trek…if it at least entertains more than it makes me roll my eyes I'll be happy.
