Stallone Wishes He Were Dead

Sylvester Stallone, no stranger to revisiting past properties, may be revisiting someone else’s stuff soon. Variety is reporting that Sly is onboard to direct and star in a remake of the Charles Bronsan classic Death Wish. Set to write are Michael Ferris and John Brancato, both of whom worked on the entertaining Terminator 3.
Fans of the original Death Wish will recall the storyline of an ordinary peace-going man who turns vigilante after New York street punks murder his wife during a robbery. Bronsan wasn’t the kind of man who would let that slide without tracking them down and killing them and their friends, and it seems that Stallone isn’t either.
No word on when filming begins or if the Writer’s Guild strike will hamper the script, but let’s just hope that this Sly remake turns out better than Get Carter.
