Spider-Man faces Anti-Venom

Take a peak at our first preview image of what is to come in the new issues of Spider-Man. This ridiculously cool looking character may (or may not) be called Anti-Venom, as word on the internet differs. Spider-Man recently went a sort of continuity restart, something that has a lot of fans up in arms. Regardless, this newly designed recreation of Venom looks pretty badass. I’m sure the young kids only familiar with Spider-Man 3 are confused as to why this character looks cool and intimidating, rather than some lame ass Spidey knock off in black with Topher Grace’s dumb face.

Design wise, it appears to be a merging of the traditional designs of Venom and his offspring, Carnage, and then painted white. Cool, but I’m a fan of classic Venom.

Part of the Brand New Day relaunch, the Amazing Spider-Man #568 hits in August and begins the six-issue mini-series “New Ways to Die.” While I’m against the restart and abandoning traditional Venom, this dude is bad ass enough for me to pick these issues up.
