Well, that may be misleading. Variety is reporting that the smoking hot Sienna Miller has been cast in the upcoming GI JOE film as “a raven-haired baroness and sexy femme fatale skilled in espionage.” Now any self-respecting fan would know that she won’t be on the JOE Team, but rather she seems to have been cast as Anastasia DeCobray, aka The Baroness. Her character was romantically linked to baddie Destro and often sided with Cobra, despite a sometimes strained relationship with Cobra Commander. Current news is that Destroy is heading Cobra, billed as an “evil organization,” with no mention of Cobra Commander. If good ol’ CC ain’t in this film, I will open a can of whoop-ass on director Stephen Sommers that he will not soon forget!
Moving on, Sienna Miller is a great choice, in my view, because Baroness was found of wearing ultra-tight leather, smart buy sexy glasses, and carrying a mother effing uzi. Nice. And it’s good to know they’re making her dye her hair in connection with the role. At least somethings are going right.
GIJOE is set to begin filming in February with a proposed release date of August 7th, 2009. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
Side Note: Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity is the dumbest mother fucking thing I’ve ever heard of, second only to no mention of Cobra Commander. While I have faith Cobra Commander will show up, I believe the name change will stay and I will not apologize for cursing about it ever, because this is my childhood. A Real International Conglomerate of Heroes? No. Fuck that. G.I. Joe was a real American hero. Fucking period.
