So, yeah - everybody loves to blame Lucas for shit, but Spielberg was the director and he was the one ultimately responsible for the overall quality of the movie. But nice try. Well, Lucas definitely pushed his ideas into the various scripts and didn't really budge on them — the Indy franchise is his baby, after all. But once the script was agreed on by all parties, Lucas steps aside and lets Spielberg do his thing.
