First Look: Shia LaBeouf and his Street Howitzer in Eagle Eye

JustJared has got a nice collection of suprisingly awesome pics of Shia LaBeouf handling a shotgun in his upcoming flick Eagle Eye. Now I hadn’t heard of this film until, oh, just now, but these pictures look pretty sweet. They show LaBeouf looking pretty badass and not cracking some joke about giant Japanese robots or whining to his sister.
The plot of this “political thriller” follows LaBeouf and a single mother (Michelle Monaghan, hottie) who get caught up within a terrorist cell and are forced into a plot to assassinate the President. Of course, these two surely will not go along with the plan and must fight for freedom and democracy. And I’m sure Monaghan’s kid will be kidnapped and held as leverage at some point.
Either way, skip over and check out the collection of pics. I’m fairly excited for this movie after seeing these set photos, as it looks like it may be a role that finally pushes LaBeouf to act, rather than just be himself on screen. While he’s lovable, his one note song and dance is getting old to me.
Eagle Eye is being directed by Disturbia helmer D.J. Caruso. It hits theaters August 8, 2008.
