Sherlock Holmes Trailer: Allegedly, This is a Comedy

In a shocking break from tradition we have an officially official trailer brought to us via Youtube. I knew the day would come. The trailer in question is for Guy Ritchie’s new comedy Sherlock Holmes, and yes, I did say comedy because according to this trailer this is going to be some funny shit. We all knew Robert Downey Jr. could spin a line (joke wise, I wouldn’t stoop to a drug reference), but who could call that Jude Law would raise laughs? Ok I know this will actually be an action film, but I’m wholly glad that ladles of laughs will accompany the spoonfuls of explosions.

We unfortunately don’t get that much new material from the last few clips, but what is here is solid and seems to be putting across the message that this is a hearty family film, that you can jaunt to the cinema for hand in hand. Not really something Guy Ritchie’sused to, so maybe this is just the studio cut trailer and little kiddies will go to see a Victorian romp and walk out of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels: The Early Years.

Oh and I simply can’t leave you without remarking on how smoking hot Rachel McAdams is here. She is wearing the hell out of that burlesque outfit. Sorry for the sudden manly uncouthness but hot damn. See for yourself below.

If you enjoyed the trailer you can see the whole shebang unfold Christmas Day of this very year.

What do you think? Do you want them to bring the funny?

  • Arthur Conan Doyle must be rolling in his grave. I, however, will be rolling in the theater...

And then taken to an asylum because I'm rolling in old popcorn butter...

This looks like a complete badass, slap in the face to the classics, that I'm going to thoroughly enjoy.

And as for Ms. McAdams... I don't know what those little high pitched grunts are, but I'm oddly aroused...
