Get it, Carried away?

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to the 2008 estrogen smash, from director Michael Patrick King. Sex and the City 2 picks up two years after the illustrious wedding between Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Big (Chris Noth), and sees the four ladies setting off on some sort of journey to lands afar. And we’re all dying to see what happens next…

Enough kidding. We all know that there’s a huge market for this film, else the first one wouldn’t have dropped a $400 million dollar worldwide box office bomb on 2008. There are plenty of ladies out there — some of them young, attractive, sophisticated and single, gents — who love the glitz, the glamor and the sex talk. In my opinion, it can’t hurt to indulge them from time to time. I intend to indulge like crazy on this one, despite my lack of interest in the works of Sarah Jessica Parker. We’ll start with the trailer below.

Sex and the City 2 is in theaters on May 28, 2010.

This is what I think they should have done with the sequel. Carrie and friends find themselves in the Nostromo in Alien. There they discover the real reason Aliens cocoon humans is to implant little Alien fashion designers so the Aliens can learn about Earth fashion. Then they can compete with humans for runway space during NYC fashion week. The four intrepid gals return to Earth. Carrie suddenly begins to eat a lot of food. Uh oh!

Why not just do another full season, hmm? At the end of the day it's mehh movies like this with a famous franchise name that takes up precious cinema hall space, not the lesser-known quality films that deserve 'em.
