Seth Rogen Promises Pineapple Express will Hit Comic-Con
Comic-Con 2008 By Cole Abaius on June 9, 2008 | (4) Comments
Seth Rogen promises a lot of things. He promised he’d call, he promised me a rose garden, and now, he’s promising all of us that he’ll be out in full force with a screening of Pineapple Express when Comic-Con rolls back to San Diego this July.
A lot of the news in his recent Collider interview has already hit the web, but the news for geeks is a small, six sentence exchange:
Q: Will you come to Comic-Con?
SR: Yeah, our whole press junket is at Comic-Con actually. We’ll be there for like five days or something.
Q: Like Superbad last year?
SR: Yeah, pretty much. We’re doing a screening and a Q&A and we’ve got our junket there and we’ve got a big f*ckin’ panel in that giant, giant room.
Awesome sauce.
The big question now is whether I’ll be the only sober person at the screening or not. I could make a lot of pot-related jokes right now, but with them smoking fake dubes on MTV, and every journalist and their dealer cracking wise about the sinsemilla, I figure I’ll lay off for now.
Plus, it could get my high-level government security clearance revoked.
Anyone for pineapple-related humor instead? Instead of stashing a one-hitter into the screening, I’m going to eat three whole pineapples by myself before hand and see if I hallucinate anything awesome. With any luck, I’ll be transported to the Dole plantation, wreathed in leis aplenty while Rogen and Franco are storming the screen.
Man, this news post has headed in an odd direction. I shouldn’t have smoked that much before heading to the news desk. The point is – if you’re head to Comic-Con, get ready for sweet, sweet Pineapple Express action. And if you can’t make it down to sunny California, don’t fear! The Film School Rejects will be providing awe-inspiring coverage from all corners of the convention center.
