Where the Wild Things Are: Skateboards.

We’re keeping a close eye on Spike Jonze’s adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s iconic children’s book because, like Max, we often got sent to bed without supper. And we wore a wolf costume. Some of us still do.

So we were really excited today to see that /film has got an interesting sneak peek at the monsters of the film. Instead of early one sheets, the monsters have worked their way onto the decks of Girls Skateboards – a company that Jonze co-founded.

Take a look!

Wild Things Monsters on Skateboards

Wild Things Skateboards

These are pretty awesome, although I’d love a better look at the monsters. Cutting them into elongated oval shapes has drastically reduced the detail and the scope of each monster. But for a tease, it’s a pretty solid one.

Not to mention genius cross-marketing.

What do you think? Would you Smith Grind on the faces of the Wild Things? Or would you fall down and slam your crotch into the railing just like me?
