Second Jumper Trailer Hits the Web

Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on December 9, 2007

When the first trailer for Jumper hit the web back in early October, we were more than impressed. Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith), it follows the lives of a fortunate few (Hayden Christensen for one) who have the ability to transport from one place to another in the blink of an eye. But this life of privilege doesn’t come without consequences — as bounty hunters known as Paladins (Samuel L. Jackson) seek to rid the world of these “Jumpers”. It looks like one of those slick Sci-Fi flicks that could just sneak up and blow our minds — even with a February release. Take a look at the trailer below and make your own judgements.

Jumper hits theaters on February 15, 2008.

You can also watch the Jumper trailer in High Definition over at Apple.com.

While I'll admit this second trailer looks pretty damn good, I have a hard time getting past the one-two punch of Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson. The former can't act and the latter has been a mother-effing caricature of himself for several years now. Liman's a pretty good director though, so we'll see. And by "we'll see", I mean I'll reserve judgement until July of next year when I watch it on dvd. (And has anyone else read the first couple of books in John Twelve Hawks' "Fourth Realm Trilogy"? Does this not look like a snazzier, less-convoluted ripoff of that storyline?)
