500-days-trailer2-header

If you are a sucker for a manic pixie dream girl, or just Zooey Deschanel in general, then this is going to be your movie of 2009. I am talking of course, of Marc Webb’s 500 Days of Summer, an energetic and cleverly written romantic comedy that debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. It stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel as a couple who go through the ups and downs of a relatively average relationship, only we see it in a very non-linear and completely intriguing way thanks to an incredibly smart script from Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter.

For more on 500 Days of Summer, go back and read my Sundance review. For those of you who are sold by either my review or the trailer below (which comes courtesy of Yahoo), the film can next be seen at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival in Austin later this month. It will hit theaters in limited release on July 17, 2009.
