SDCC: ‘Tr2n’ Retitled ‘Tron: Legacy’

While we’re keeping a close eye on all things happening in Hall H at Comic-Con this year, and keeping a close eye out for Robert Pattinson since he owes Cole money, we’re most dedicated this morning to keeping our eyes open anything Tr2n related.

According to Quint over at Aint It Cool News, after getting the crowd on their side by handing out some really cool game tokens to Flynn’s Arcade, the Disney crew rolled through some news and footage for A Christmas Carol and Alice in Wonderland before releasing the news that Tr2n or Tron 2 or TWOn or whatever it was called has been renamed to Tron: Legacy.

To be fair, we don’t know if it’s Tron Legacy or Tron: Legacy since it was spoken, but it’s good either way!

How do you guys feel about this? I know there seemed to be a ton of bitterness at them calling it Tr2n – maybe because it was too 2 Fast and 2 Furious – but does the name change really matter all that much? I’m super psyched for this movie as much as the next geek but I’d go see it even if it was called Tron With the Wind.

What do you think?

For a while there I was worried they'd go with Tron: Rise of the _____, like so many films are being called these days (Lycans, Machines, Silver Surfer, The Cobra, etc)

Glad they didn't stick a 2 in there after all though. its been so long since the last film that nobody is going to want to see the sequel to a film they never originally saw. This makes it sound like a spinoff or whatever, which works for me.

    But 'legacy' is pretty stock/generic.
