scorsese01.jpgWe can toss another potential masterpiece onto the in-production pile for legendary director Martin Scorsese. Variety is reporting that his next documentary project will be on musical icon Bob Marley.

Scorsese, coming off his Best Director win last year and his Rolling Stones doc Shine a Light that comes out in April, is also working on a mystery thriller called Shutter Island and a biopic on Teddy Roosevelt starring the only actor he works with, Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Marley project will be undertaken by Shangri-La Entertainment and Tuff Gong Pictures. This Marley-family sanctioned film should be released sometime in 2010. So mark your calendars. Assuming, of course, you own a 2010 calendar.

No word yet on how Scorsese will work Leonardo DiCaprio into this one. Perhaps an interview on how Redemption Song influenced his portrayal of Jack in Titanic. I can see the connection.

Speaking of which, how incredible would Redemption Song be as a title for this as-yet-untitled doc? Count it.
