Our friends over at /Film have posted a reader-submitted first look at soon-to-be-action-star-whether-we-like-it-or-not Sam Worthington in the upcoming epic remake Clash of the Titans. The Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk) directed film is currently shooting in and around Los Angeles.

Worthington (seen below looking ever so gritty) plays Perseus, the film’s hero. “Helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.”

Have a look at the image below for yourself. If you ask me, it looks a little hyper-touched up, doesn’t it? Though, in fairness this appears to be a magazine scan, so ‘bleh.’ (Note: That is the most mature reaction I could come up with for this photo. Please feel free to be less mature in the comment area below).

Clash of the Titans hits theaters on March 26, 2010.

Letterier is doing World War Hulk?! JK! haha! I'm actually pretty excited about this film. I loved the original as a kid and I definitely think it's time for my kids to be introduced to Clash of the Titans. I think there's very little chance they'd be interested in the old one. Sam Worthington would be huge already if T4 wasn't such a dud. After Avatar & Clash he'll definitely be big time!
  • The armor reminds me of "Gladiator".
World War Hulk would be badass
  • Let's hope this is more "Gladiator" than "Troy."
  • I assume it will be a mix of Gladiator and 300....but this will have a bunch of monsters so anything is possible...could be great or horrible depending on the practical effects and CGI uses...Leterrier did a great job with the look of the CGI effects in Incredible Hulk so I'm excited for a trailer

Eff World War Hulk. Do Planet Hulk instead. Now that would be badass.
  • I'm sure theres a bit of pressure to have this film have the same look as 300

oops! that's what I meant... Planet Hulk.

Sam Worthington is as hot as hell and has beautiful legs too! Can't wait for CotT! Seriously, he smouldered and outshone all others in Terminator and was a stark contrast to the controlled and sphincter closing intensity of Christian Bale - who may end up with a seriously painful load of piles if he get sany more uptight! Some of us are desperately hoping Sam is gay - although he probably is not. I am seriously in love with this guy Sam, with the mysterious and intriguing looking expressions, and that inviting body! And he can act - and act really oh so well. He was the star of Terminator 4 and stole the show - Australians have the same kind of attitude towards visceral and cerebral acting as the British have - something the US actors aspire to but find hard to match.

    Sorry - erata - I meant Terninator 5!
  • Keith the Beef
    or even Terminator 5! :-(
