post_ryanreynolds.jpgOkay, so that’s not necessarily true. He has no plans to star in a zombie film, and as far as I know he doesn’t actually want to eat your brains. He does however want to get into your head.

The fine folks over at Twitch are reporting that Reynolds and John August, the writer/director of Reynolds newest movie, The Nines, have recorded an audio commentary for the film. This is not a new to dvd film or even a straight-to-dvd release either. The Nines opened in theaters yesterday. Sure it’s only in New York and LA, but still…

August is the writer of several films, including Go, Big Fish, The Corpse Bride, and the upcoming Captain Marvel. This is his directorial debut, and while the drawing power of Ryan Reynolds is immense (Waiting anyone… anyone…), they’re hedging their bets with this nifty bit of marketing. The idea is to download the commentary onto your mp3 player, and listen to it when you go to see The Nines for the second time in the theater… yes, August makes a point of saying you shouldn’t listen to it on your first viewing… save it for your second $9 contribution to the film. (So shrewd Mr. August, so shrewd.) He also recommends you seat yourself away from other people so as not to offend with the voices spilling out of your ears.

The movie also stars Hope Davis and judging by the trailer is one messed up mindhump. Not having seen the movie yet, I think the trailer gives away a bit too much. I’m speaking of a scene that looks straight out of the ubiquitous The Sims game… The free commentary download can be found at August’s blog.
