When it rains comic book movie news, it positively pours. After being named on the directorial short list (which also reportedly included F. Gary Gray and George Nolfi) for Captain America 2, brothers Joe and Anthony Russo have apparently snagged the gig.

Variety report some scant details on their exclusive, telling us that the Community directors and executive producers are “in final negotiations” to direct and that Marvel has not responded with a comment as of yet. The pair have extensive television work under their belts (including also Happy Endings and Arrested Development), along with writing and directing Welcome to Collinwood and the upcoming Ciudad (which comes from the pair’s own graphic novel).

The film is set to open on April 4, 2014.
