Russell Crowe Joins Paul Haggis’ ‘Next Three Days’
Movie News By Neil Miller on July 30, 2009 | (2) Comments
According to those snoops at Variety, Russell Crowe has signed onto a new project with writer/director Paul Haggis called The Next Three Days. It is an adaptation of the 2008 French film Pour Elle, from director Fred Cavayé.
Crowe will play a teacher whose wife is arrested and convicted of a murder she says she did not commit, leaving him no choice but to put in motion a desperate plan to free her.
They had me at Russell Crowe and a jail-break plot. Also, I’ve long enjoyed the work of Paul Haggis, with only a few glaring exceptions. It is unknown yet as to whether this film will be more of a drama or a thriller, but I’m placing my bet on drama. But hey, lets give it a chance until we know more.
The film will begin shooting in late September in Pittsburgh.
