Russell Brand probably isn’t sure about a lot of things in his life — who the random naked woman is in his hotel room, how to use a hair brush and what day it is. These are the problems that plague both brand and, as you may well know, members of the online press. Because we too are like faux rock stars. Alas, there is something that Brand is unsure of that we don’t have to worry about, and that is whether or not he has enough time to be a pirate.

Brand stopped by Access Hollywood to talk to Billy Bush about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and was asked about his potential involvement in Pirates of the Caribbean 4. “There’s been some talk of doing a ‘Pirates’ movie,” Brand explained. “But, I’ve got eight other things to do [including] ‘Get Him To The Greek’ with Judd Apatow… So I don’t know if there’ll be time to be a pirate, I’ve got enough of that in me private life.”

Dear Russell Brand: Illegally ripping a copy of The Jonas Brothers 3D Concert Experience is nothing like starring alongside Johnny Depp in one of the most successful movie franchises of the past decade. Trust me, we’ve tested the theory. Personally, I don’t know if I’d like to see Brand in Pirates 4. Sure, he’s a character and that franchise needs fun characters. But think about it — up until now it’s been serious actors (Johnny Depp, Bill Nighy) playing these characters, not schoolyard jesters. Brand will do well to stick to the Apatow crew, he will continue to find success there.

Do you think that Russell Brand should find time away from his seemingly odd private life to do a Pirates movie?
