Rumor Patrol: Jessica Biel in Talks for Thor
In Development By Neil Miller on July 1, 2009 | (9) Comments
The folks over at Nuke the Fridge have laid down some rumors today linking noted hottie Jessica Biel and the upcoming Marvel Studios production of Thor, which will be directed by Kenneth Branagh. According to their anonymous tipster, Biel is in talks to play the “love interest” of the title character, who will be played by Star Trek‘s Chris Hemsworth.
The source was very unclear as to the exact character that Biel might play, though speculation has her playing anything from Jane Foster, a nurse who dated Dr. Donald Blake (Thor’s alter-ego in the Earthly realm) — to The Enchantress, a sexy sorceress who tries to seduce Thor, but it ultimately rejected when Thor falls in love with Sif, an Asgardian warrior. And yes, Biel is also possibly in talks for the role of Sif.
In the end, here’s what we know: some “source” that cannot be identified or, at this point, trusted in any way, is saying that Jessica Biel is in the running for “a role in Thor. Even if this is true — which may or may not negate rumors that Natalie Portman has also been talking to Marvel about the project — we don’t know anything about what role she’s in talks for. So at this point, the only real reason to say anything about this is that it gives me the opportunity to sift through images of Ms. Biel while people in the coffee shop around me look at me funny. But screw them, this is important work we’re doing here.
If Jessica Biel is cast in Thor, does that have any effect on you personally?
