Hi There speaking as a 45 year fan and as a black man while Will could pull it off I don’t think he would do it, for the reason he stated for not doing superman , but there is a role he would great at and that would be CAGE or the Panther and I agree Matthew would be my chose for CA But Who would THOR? or better yet what about WonderMan. or Vison come on guys the Marvel U is full of Heros and there are some great actors out there to play them SO fellows Lets just pray they gether done.

there a black guy named rogers? i dont know.

As much as I love Will Smith and his A-List Royalty. No way in hell I would see the movie if Will will play Captain America!!! No way, no how and plus I didn’t see “Hancock”. There I said it!
If any guys would like to put Will Smith in Marvel Universe unless he plays Black Panther or The Falcon (Sam “Snap” Wilson). I can see both characters can be played by him but making him the Shield wielding All-American character is just totally wrong!!!
Please Marvel don’t make the mistake!!!

Robert, you’re probably (100%) right it’s about casting Will Smith as opposed to casting a black man. I think the problem is that fanboys will probably shit an enormous brick about it not being true to the source material because he’s black and it sort of ruins his comic backstory. But Hollywood’s never ever strayed from the source material, so what do they have to be worried about?

*sigh* Will Smith is an amazing actor, he can do both comedy and serious movies and I love that about him, he can handle both. Seeing him in Hancock proves he can handle being a superhero, but for him to take on playing a super hero which is originally white (I think?) will cause too much panic and flaming from the fanbase for Captain America. There’ll be people sending him hate letters and everything, Will shouldn’t step into that zone.

But wasn’t he offered Superman as well? I remember he said something like, it’s dangerous to take a white hero and turn him black, that he wasn’t going to step into that. I don’t think he’d change his opinion for CA.
