Mickey Rourke Definitely Not Crimson Dynamo
Movie News By Cole Abaius on February 3, 2009 | (2) Comments
Sound the geek alarm! Actually don’t. The alarm costs money to operate, and this recession is killing us as it is. What were you thinking? But there’s official word coming from the mouth of Iron Man himself that Mickey Rourke is not going to play Crimson Dynamo. Does that mean he won’t be in the movie at all? Not necessarily. Does it mean he might be playing Whiplash instead? Probably.
Splash Page talked to Downey Jr on the set of Sherlock Holmes, and he shot down the prospect of Rourke playing the Dynamo, but could “neither confirm or deny” Rourke’s involvement as Whiplash:
“The nerd stuff is top-drawer security.” Genius.
I think it’s pretty safe to assume that Rourke will be signing on the dotted line at some point in the near future – at least sometime before they finish production – and that he’ll be playing Whiplash. Unless we get a curveball, that’s fairly likely.
So maybe you should sound the geek alarm anyway, cost be damned.
