You're right! There really was a Lucius Vorenus and a Titus Pullo. I liked the way they were used in Rome to act as witnesses to history which in truth they were in real life.

Great article, and I excited at the idea but i have one little problem. Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo weren't fictional characters. Those names were taken from Caesars own diaries. They are the only two common soldiers he ever mentions by name.

Even though I didn't have HBO I found a way to see the series because it was that good. BUT, leave it to HBO to cut it's own throat like it always does and kill a series that could have earned them millions in on going revenue.

It's called multi year contracts that the stars sign to lock them into a fair wage and that everyone could live with. Bottom line though unless they can make it cheap and sell it high they will always sacrifice quality.
