Tyrannosaurus Rex

Popping up all over the web today is our first look at the teaser poster for Rob Zombie’s 2009 release Tyrannosaurus Rex. The film advertises itself as having a title character that is 51% motherfucker and 49% son of a bitch. I don’t know about you, but I like those qualities in a shirtless rampaging asshole dealing out vengeance.

Which is why it comes as some surprise that this a romantic comedy.

Rob Zombie's Tyrannosaurus Rex

Just fucking with you.

There hasn’t been much official word on Tyrannosaurus- some believe it’s an adaptation of the Zombie-Niles comic “The Nail” though apparently that might not true. Early indications seem to suggest that it’s similar to the comic, but a bit different. We’re guessing that it will follow one badass son of a bitch who’s either out for vengeance, or justice, or just trying to survive. Odds are, he’ll fight some motorcycle demons from hell or some other.

Either way, I still have a lot of faith in Rob Zombie as a filmmaker. I think he learns and grows with each effort and from the look of this poster, it’s right in his wheelhouse. The poster was designed by Alex Horley, who draws for Rob Zombie’s “Creepshow International” comic. I’m down for this ride.

As long as Zombie doesn't write the film, it has a chance to be good. The guy seemingly does have some talent behind the camera, but his dialog... oy vey!
  • I felt the same way about Zombie's learning curve, and then I saw "Halloween." Yikes. A primer on how not to make a horror movie, or better yet a primer on how to make people appreciate a classic horror movie all the more. Let's hope he rebounds.

Looks like a Frazetta poster but I don't see his sig anywhere on
