Funny enough you're right, it's 100 times worse (no quotations necessary) than the original and that's an amazing feat, because you're wrong – the original is not a cult classic. It's pile of shit that I still could care less about a worse remake (other adaptation, whatever it is) being made. It's fine if you like the film, but unless there is some moderately-sized group of fans that enjoy going to horror conventions dressed up in dirty flannel and overalls yelling “Outlander!!” that I'm unaware of then the original will remain a qualified pile of shit that a few people will make an attempt to defend.

It can't be any worse than the original. The last time they remade a bad horror film (The Hills Have Eyes) I heard it turned out well (didn't see the remake). I could care less if this turns out bad.

I did like the original but not enough to be demanding someone's head be removed for yet another remake. I can promise that i will not go to the theater to watch it, but will rent it so if I am disappointed I didn't spend $40 taking the fam to see another crap movie.
