Rambo Poster Revealed
Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on October 18, 2007
John Rambo. Rambo: To Hell and Back. Rambo IV: Holy War. Who gives a shit? Just give it a damn name, make a poster, drop a full length trailer in glorious quicktime and release the film. No one really cares what the film is going to be called, just that it involves gratuitous blood and violence. For that matter you could call it Rambo IV: Fluffy Bunnies Attack and we would still go see it.
Thankfully, the folks at Lionsgate and the indecisive Sly Stallone have finally tagged the fourth installment of the Rambo franchise — as simply just Rambo. They have also released a poster via IGN. You can see both the title and the poster. Hopefully they haven’t printed too many of these…

Plot Synopsis: Twenty years after the last film in the series, John Rambo (SYLVESTER STALLONE) has retreated to northern Thailand, where he’s running a longboat on the Salween River. On the nearby Thai-Burma (Myanmar) border, the world’s longest-running civil war, the Burmese-Karen conflict, rages into its 60th year. But Rambo, who lives a solitary, simple life in the mountains and jungles fishing and catching poisonous snakes to sell, has long given up fighting, even as medics, mercenaries, rebels and peace workers pass by on their way to the war-torn region.
That all changes when a group of human rights missionaries search out the “American river guide” John Rambo. When Sarah (JULIE BENZ) and Michael Bennett (PAUL SCHULZE) approach him, they explain that since last year’s trek to the refugee camps, the Burmese military has laid landmines along the road, making it too dangerous for overland travel. They ask Rambo to guide them up the Salween and drop them off, so they can deliver medical supplies and food to the Karen tribe. After initially refusing to cross into Burma, Rambo takes them, dropping off Sarah, Michael and the aid workers…
Less than two weeks later, pastor Arthur Marsh (KEN HOWARD) finds Rambo and tells him the aid workers did not return and the embassies have not helped locate them. He tells Rambo he’s mortgaged his home and raised money from his congregation to hire mercenaries to get the missionaries, who are being held captive by the Burmese army. Although the United States military trained him to be a lethal super soldier in Vietnam, decades later Rambo’s reluctance for violence and conflict are palpable, his scars faded, yet visible. However, the lone warrior knows what he must do…

Back To The Future 4? I doubt anyone wants M.J. Fox behind the wheel of a tricycle let alone a time-travelling DeLorean. Better install some air bags!

It’s obvious by reading the replies some of you need to get a grip and remove that lid rack you call a HEAD, from your ass…. There comes a time when an operator gets tired of fighting and wants to just blend in….This is the idea with Rambo, it isn’t weather or not he has the ability to kill, he’s just seen ENOUGH….but even he can be pushed too far, Perhaps the Quote in Rambo 1 is true “You should be put behind glass that reads “Break in Case of WAR”….People it’s a movie, and this version actually has a good plot, it’ll be worth the money spent.

“50mm MACHINE GUN”????? I believe they would call that a “Rapid Fire Howitzer”…Geeze People get your shit straight!
Anonymous your right .50cal is old school, “Old Ma Deuce” is alive and well and still “Tappin Ass” at long distance….

RAMBO , what a champion I grew living and breathing Sly, so Rambo 4 is lookin pretty good according to the scripts, as for you tosses I’d like to see what your capable of when you hit your sixties, and if you were to have researched a little harder , maybe you would have realised that the ‘big 50 cal’ shes still around.
November 26th, 2007 at 6:26 pm
just hang it up already, retire or something….
December 3rd, 2007 at 12:19 am
Cant wait for the return of RAMBO!
Even in his early 60’s Sly Stallone still kicks the ass of these crappy-ass recent movies by other so-called action stars.
Word is there might be a Rambo V in a couple of years.

It’s funny watching all these kids now talk crap, but they come from an age when most action hero actors have deal with the horrors of making sure they look like they are in danger in front of the big green screen. Watch this flim boys and girls, see how its done. If you have nothing better to do then cut on a movie you have not seen maybe you should go watch the original movies. If after that someone still has to explain to you the fun of these movies, you are not ever going to get it and your opinion does not matter.

This movie is another cheap sequel aimed at people who are sadists and don’t really know what movie-making means. The plot is just plain stupid and if you look at Rambo and compare him with the old version you’ll see that the new one is just plain stupid/tasteless/fake/badass-wannabe but with that amount of blood in the movie who’s gonna notice? The directors are trying to milk the previous 3 Rambos,if you are going to do so you should at least give it a plot. The movie is indeed too damn exagerated,it’s filled with all of these new cheap tricks that make me sick! While the blood and violence in 300 can be tolerated since they are obvious made with the computer the violence in Rambo 4 is just too damn explicit!I know Rambo, and this is not Rambo! The previous movies had a meaning, they were not just killings and bloodshed. They can really boost your will-power and everybody can watch them, child or adult. However this new movie is so violent it can cause you a trauma. It’s just too much! How can a 60 year old guy,who has been inactive in the past 20 years,be so deadly?I mean Stallone in this movie reminds me of everything but Rambo,he’s a combination of Jason and Leonidas from 300.He just sucks.Im not going to watch it,I like the previous movies better.

December 28th, 2007 at 1:54 pm

January 3rd, 2008 at 9:22 am
man this movie is good action movie. all those think that this movie sucks, try another genre. if you find it gory, watch cartoons man. he’s done a lot of hard work. i know sly personally. he even injured his right leg while running when chased.
January 3rd, 2008 at 2:22 pm
i think sly stallone is hurtin for money….he just recently made rocky 6 and that wasnt that great and he hosted contender and that didnt go to well either… for a man who made a quite a bit movies like the old rambo and the old rocky u would think he would be rich as heck. but why make more movies…ur gettin older and not that good anymore, give it up stallone.
January 8th, 2008 at 5:38 pm
I don’t know if Sly is hurting for money, but he is certainly wanting to get back in the game, so to speak. It’s sad that he cannot find something original or more fitting for him in his advanced stage (62 yrs old), and his only option is to revive characters from his glory days. You won’t find a bigger Rambo fan on the planet than me, but I will not waste my money on this crap. The only true reason for this fim and the sixth Rocky film was to resuscitate his morbid career. I can’t stomach this. I think he’s making as ass out of himself.

rambomovie!
February 4th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
I loved the series as a kid. Stallone was a true action hero then. This poster looks tight, remind me alot of the SCARFACE 1. I have not seen this movie yet, but I hope to God it is better then his last Rocky. My respect go out to this man, he tries hard to entertain. The man is a living legend.
