Eh, not that much better than Chris Cornell's
  • Don't really care for the video. Still undecided on the song. This cleaner version is better than the leaked one, but I'm not sold on it.

Like the song, but not sure if it's a Bond theme.

    The video is pretty blah.

meh. dont brilliant. not bad either. The vocals are terrible!..but the tune is catchy. Still prefer chris cornell's.

P.s. wtf happened to alicia keys? she used to be hot..anyone else think she doesnt quite sparkle in this video?
  • Sorry, but this song really blows compared to Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name".
That song totally fit the vibe of the "new Bond". This song does not.

Heck, I'll take any of the old really cheesy Bond themes over this one.

Let me put on my musician hat for a moment and break it down with some ratings from 1 to 10:

The musical instrumentation, composition, and arrangement: I like it a lot. I'll give it an 8.5.

The vocal melody and arrangement: Feh. I'm giving it a 2.5.

The video: I wasn't bored, but Jack White looks like an emo bitch. So that gets a 3.5.

Overall, I think the song is better than any of the Timothy Dalton theme songs, better than Duran Duran's "A View to a Kill" (which I hate), and it's a lot better than the CASINO ROYALE theme (which I thought was boring as hell). But it's not even in the same league as the "classic" James Bond themes: "The Spy Who Loved Me," "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," or "Goldfinger." And it's not quite as good as the lesser classics like "Goldeneye" or "Tomorrow Never Dies."

Jack, it looks like you need to get back into that little room.

This song is garbage. The Chris Cornell song was not as bad as this crap. I don't understand why they won't just call Shirley Bassey to do a song. I got her last cd and she still has the pipes to do a Bond song justice.

The music's actually OK. It would be better without the vocals; just make it an instrumental. The vocals just sound screechy. Alicia's earlier self sounded so much better than she does these days. In her own latest singles, she's flat and belting notes that are just out of her range. Like she's fighting it, pushing too hard to get the notes. The video part of this is kind of blah.

Hmm, I seem to be the only one to actually like the song and the video. Granted it is different than any of the other themes but isn't that what they are going for in the new movies?
