QT Lowers the Bad Ass Factor By Losing…Shaun of the Dead?

It’s been a full day since our last update on the casting “news” regarding Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards, and we apologize for our lackadaisical attitude. So here’s some brand new Un-casting News!

Simon Pegg has blogged a depressing little post regarding his role in Inglorious Bastards, namely that he no longer has one. Apparently he’s too busy to star in what’s shaping up to be Tarantino’s next movie.

Much to our mutual disappointment, I won’t be appearing in QT’s forthcoming Inglorious Bastards due to insurmountable scheduling difficulties. We really tried to make it work but in the end, it just was not possible without severe ramifications elsewhere. I’m trying to remain upbeat, as Tom Selleck said “Who the hell is Indiana Jones anyway?”

As a consolation, Pegg did reveal that his new film with Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) has found a director… and his name isn’t Edgar Wright. Instead, Greg Mottola (Superbad) will be directing the duo in Paul, the story of two British comic book geeks on a road trip across America. This will mark the first time the duo will work together sans Wright, although the British tripod still plans to reunite for part three of the Cornetto trilogy, tentatively titled The World’s End.

It’s unclear if any of this news will soothe the savage Abaius-beast, but if it invokes another rant, you’ll read it on FSR first.

On one hand, that sucks royally. But on the other, it's due to scheduling difficulties, which means more Pegg... even if it's not with ol' QT.
  • This is why I hate you, Rob Hunter.
  • Considering Inglorious Bastards probably won't be made for another 8 years anyways, maybe things will clear up.

I think he took the safe route and decided that QT is going to screw this up so it was easier to step back and not be part of the problem.
